Langa Massacre Monument, Uitenhage, Eastern Cape
In March 1985, members of the South African Police opened fire on a crowd of people attending a funeral. They had blocked the road and ordered people to disperse. When the crowd failed to do so, police opened fire, killing 35 people and wounding 27.
