Isivivane Memorial, Freedom Park, Pretoria
The Isivivane memorial is part of the Freedom Park museum and commemorative complex and has a particular symbolic import. It is situated in a commanding location overlooking the surrounding area, echoing the Voertrekker monument on another high point in the vicinity, and certainly contradicting it in symbolic terms. It consists of nine rocks, each from the different provinces of South Africa, and implies unity.
